Australians’ reverence for their ancestors’ sacrifices in wartime grows every year, as evidenced by the increasing number of people making pilgrimages to Gallipoli each Anzac Day.
To screen on the Nine Network, In Their Footsteps honours these heroes by connecting them to family members, who, along with the audience, will learn exactly what it was like to march in their combat boots, whether it be in WWI, WWII, Vietnam, Afghanistan or Iraq. Every week, ordinary Australians will be taken to far-flung battlefields where they’ll literally walk in thefootsteps of their extraordinary ancestors, discovering what they saw and experienced. Produced by Shine Australia, in conjunction with the makers of the critically acclaimed documentary series Australians At War and The Australians At War Film Archive, In Their Footsteps is a uniquely exciting and moving television project.
