Since its debut in 2006, The Biggest Loser has been a ratings smash, with its finale episodes regularly attracting more than 2 million viewers to place it among the most-watched programs of each year.
Not content to rest on past achievements, Shine Australia, in partnership with Network Ten, has in 2011 improved on the successful format to create The Biggest Loser Australia: Families.
This year’s competition follows four families fighting the flab to see who can lose the most weight, reclaim their health and win a fantastic six-figure cash prize. In 2011, the four families now face four judges, with series regulars Shannan and Michelle returning, The Commando joining the punishment roster full-time, and former Gladiator and martial experts Tiffiny Hall adding her warrior spirit to the team.
When it premiered on January 30, The Biggest Loser: Australia again proved a big ratings winner and successfully anchored Network Ten’s Sunday night line up.
